About Blast
Blast was created from firsthand experience managing the day-to-day challenges of running a busy industrial operation inside a 4,000 square metre factory environment.
Like many businesses in the trade and industrial sectors, keeping staff informed, tracking job progress, managing workflow, and updating clients often meant constantly running from one end of the workshop to the other just to stay on top of what was happening.
At the same time, there was a growing need for better visibility across every stage of a job, not only to improve efficiency, but to provide proof that work had been completed exactly as promised. Too often, when something went wrong, the applicator or tradesperson was the first to be blamed, despite the issue often originating elsewhere in the process. Without proper documentation, photos, timestamps, or quality records, proving that became almost impossible.
After trialling multiple systems, it became clear that nothing truly reflected the realities of the workshop floor. Existing software was either overly complicated, disconnected from real operational workflows, or simply not designed for everyday people actually doing the work.
So, the idea for Blast was put into action, a simple, practical, industry-built cloud-based workflow platform designed to bridge the gap between operations, management, and the client.

Holly has spent the last 20 years immersed in the abrasive blasting and industrial coatings industry.
Originally beginning her career in medical laboratories, Holly was passionate about building a long-term future in the field. However, when her husband, already established in the abrasive blasting and industrial coatings industry, encouraged her to join the business, she stepped into a completely new world, initially managing the accounts and administration side of operations.
What started as a new opportunity quickly became a lifelong passion. Over the past two decades, Holly has developed extensive hands-on industry knowledge, gaining firsthand experience in operations, workflow management, client relations, and the day-to-day demands of running a busy industrial business.
This real-world experience ultimately inspired the creation of Blast, a cloud-based workflow platform designed by industry, for industry.
